How much does a Drupal 7 to 11 migration cost?

Meta description: What drives the cost of a Drupal 7 to Drupal 11 migration, what you can expect to pay, and how to get an accurate fixed quote.
There is no single price for a Drupal 7 to 11 migration, because no two Drupal 7 sites are alike. A brochure site with 40 pages and a stock theme is a different job from a 10-year-old site with custom modules, 50,000 nodes and a membership system.
What you can know is what moves the price. Here are the factors, in rough order of impact.
1. Custom code. Custom modules written for Drupal 7 can't be carried across. They have to be rewritten for Drupal 11. This is usually the biggest cost driver.
2. Contributed modules. Many Drupal 7 modules have a Drupal 11 equivalent, some have been merged into core, and a few have been abandoned. Each abandoned one means finding an alternative or building a replacement.
3. Content volume and structure. Moving 500 simple pages is quick. Moving tens of thousands of nodes with complex fields, references and revisions takes more mapping and testing.
4. The theme. Drupal 7 themes don't work in Drupal 11. Plan on rebuilding or heavily porting the front end. If you also want a redesign, that is a separate scope.
5. Integrations. CRM, payment, search, SSO and other third-party connections each need to be rebuilt and tested.
6. Multilingual, users and permissions. Extra languages, roles and complex access rules add mapping and testing time.
What you can expect to pay
At Listberg, migrations start from $1000. That is the starting point for a straightforward site. Sites with custom modules, many integrations or large amounts of content cost more, and the price depends on the factors above.
Whatever the size of the site, the price is fixed before work begins, so you know the number up front.
How to get an accurate number
A short audit that inventories your modules, custom code and content turns a wide range into a fixed quote. It is the cheapest way to avoid surprises. Listberg's Readiness Audit is free, and you get a written report with a fixed-scope estimate.
Why not wait?
Drupal 7 no longer receives official community security support, so every month on it adds risk and makes the eventual migration harder to staff.
